Margot and Jeff,
This is a great idea! We have an 8 ft. by 8ft. garden, and by using your method perhaps we can try growing all year long. Not sure...but worth looking into. I'm sure the temps between Maine and Colorado are fairly similar. Is that plastic your using to cover the top of the garden?
Living in the middle of the city, in Portland, Maine, yet passionate about sustainable agriculture, biodiversity, access to healthy food and food sovereignty, we decided to transform our asphalt driveway into a vegetable and perennial garden.
This blog is a small window into how we did what we did. We created this blog with the hope that others will be inspired to think about their spaces and create what you wish, and feel empowered with the knowledge and tools that we share.
Please feel free to contact us for more information and to share your local wisdom.
